Как полагает М.П. Шпайдель, отдельные императорские всадники, отличившиеся на военной службе в своем войсковом корпусе, зачислялись в личный походный штаб провинциальных наместников, а также офицеров, командовавших войсковыми группами экспедиционной армии Галлиена.
